Apply for the ESPID Travel Grant or Participation Award and receive support to attend the ESPID 2026 Meeting in Bologna!
Who Can Apply
Open to all ESPID members or those applying for membership.
How to Apply
The grant application is part of the abstract submission process.
You must apply while submitting your abstract — the grant form cannot be accessed later.
Steps:

Go to the Abstract Submission Portal.

Complete your abstract submission details.

When prompted, select the Travel or Participation Award option and fill in the short grant application form.

Submit both your abstract and grant application together before 20 January 2026.
You’ll need your abstract ID(s) to complete the application.
Once submitted, the grant form cannot be edited separately.
Selection Criteria
Applications are evaluated using a points-based system considering:

ESPID membership status
-
Age (younger applicants receive higher consideration)
-
Professional qualifications (medical/scientific degrees or certifications)
-
Country of residence (based on World Bank income classification)
-
Number of abstracts submitted
-
Commitment to sustainable travel (e.g. train, bus, or other low-emission options)
Award Benefits
Travel Award Recipients receive:

Economy-class air or train travel to Bologna
-
Up to 3 nights of 2–3 star accommodation (designated hotel)

Free registration to the ESPID 2026 Meeting
Participation Award Recipients receive:

Free registration to the ESPID 2026 Meeting
Important Information

Travel award recipients must attend the full Meeting.

Registration and accommodation links will be provided to awardees.
ESPID cannot reimburse self-booked hotels or registration fees. -
Travel must be arranged through the official travel agent within the allocated budget.
Indirect or off-peak options may apply. -
Travel between home, airport, and venue is not covered.

Once confirmed, travel arrangements cannot be changed or reimbursed if self-booked.
